Posted by on March 30th, 2012 with 0 Comments

The Fashion Institute of Technology and the FIT Foundation honored William P. Lauder, executive chairman of Estée Lauder Companies Inc., and William T. Dillard III vice president of Dillard’s, Inc. last night. Exemplary men of success, the honorees are notable inspirations to FIT students today.

The gala brought together pioneers in fashion, business, and design last evening, while earning a whopping two million dollars in proceeds going toward the FIT Foundation. Underscoring the far-reaching networks and heights foreseen by FIT alumna, students and current faculty members, Estée Lauder and Dillard’s Inc. partnered up last night, to generate funding opportunities. Despite its low cost tuition, 65% FIT students are on financial aid and obliged to recompense loans some day.

Set at the beautiful Cipriani ballroom on 42nd street, attendees included Lauder family members Aerin Lauder, Leonard A. Lauder, and Gary Lauder; Dillard family members William Dillard III and Mandy Dillard. Meanwhile, three phenomenal FIT students were awarded supremely generous grants to aid them in implementing their luminary visions.

Supermodels Carolyn Murphy and Constance Jablonski, singers Natasha Bedingfield and Oh Land, designers Francisco Costa also made notable appearances alongside Hearst’s top female publishers of  CosmopolitanTown & Country, Seventeen, Veranda and El Décor magazines.
